My Approach
I take a collaborative, evidence-based approach to medication management, drawing on my background in both psychiatric and physical health to provide comprehensive care.
What this means for you:
The initial assessment is thorough and unhurried. I take time to understand your complete picture: your symptoms, medical history, past treatments, current medications, and how everything interconnects. This isn't a quick checklist—it's a genuine conversation about what you're experiencing and what you're hoping to achieve.
From there, we develop a treatment plan tailored specifically to you—your symptoms, lifestyle, medical conditions, and personal goals. There's no one-size-fits-all approach here. My experience in pain management and rheumatology means I'm particularly attentive to how psychiatric medications interact with other conditions and treatments, which is especially important if you're managing chronic illness alongside mental health concerns.
Treatment is an ongoing partnership. We meet regularly to monitor your progress, adjust medications as needed, and ensure you're getting the best possible outcomes. I also consider factors beyond medication—sleep, stress, lifestyle, and physical health—because effective treatment addresses more than just symptoms in isolation.
Appointment Structure
Initial Consultation (60 min): Comprehensive assessment, discussion of goals, and development of treatment plan.
Follow-Ups (30 min): Ongoing medication management, symptom monitoring, and treatment adjustments.
All appointments via secure telehealth from the comfort of your home.
Pediatric Autism Spectrum Disorder Assessments
Diagnostic clarity is foundational to quality care.
Early and accurate diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder enables children and adolescents to access appropriate supports, educational accommodations, evidence-based interventions, and coordinated treatment planning. I offer comprehensive, evidence-based diagnostic evaluations using standardized instruments recognized by schools, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.
What the Assessment Includes
The evaluation is thorough and developmentally informed:
-
Developmental and behavioral history — detailed conversation about early milestones, social communication, behavioral patterns, and family context
-
Standardized diagnostic instruments such as the CARS-2 (Childhood Autism Rating Scale)
-
Clinical analysis — integration of history, direct observation, and assessment data to inform diagnostic conclusion
-
Comprehensive written report — clear diagnostic summary, functional profile, and specific recommendations for school, family, and treatment coordination
-
Guidance on next steps — information about educational planning (IEP/504 accommodations), insurance authorization, behavioral or therapeutic interventions, and ongoing care coordination with other providers
Appointment Structure
-
Initial Assessment (60-90min): Comprehensive developmental history, parent/guardian interview, and direct assessment using standardized tools.
-
Report & Feedback Session (15 min): Review of findings, diagnostic summary, recommendations, and discussion of next steps.
-
All appointments via secure telehealth. In-person assessment available upon request.
Who This Is For
-
Children and adolescents (ages 2–17) where there are concerns about autism spectrum disorder
-
Families seeking diagnostic clarity for educational or treatment planning
-
Parents who want a comprehensive, evidence-based evaluation
Why Evidence-Based Assessment Matters
A clear diagnosis is not a label—it's a key that unlocks access to support. Standardized assessment tools and clinical expertise ensure that the evaluation is reliable, valid, and recognized by schools and insurance companies. This clarity allows families to advocate effectively, access appropriate services, and support their child's development with confidence.
